Food & Drink

Maine’s culinary scene is hard to beat these days as it continues to gain national attention.

Portland, Maine was named 2018 Restaurant City of the Year, and is home to five 2019 James Beard Awards semifinalists. In total, Maine had nine chefs and restaurants make the semifinalist list. There are also more than 100 Maine microbreweries and a growing number of wineries and distilleries stretching from Kittery to Fort Kent.

Maine also has a thriving nightlife, music and food festival scene, including waterfront concerts in Bangor, Portland Wine Week, The Maine Lobster Festival in Rockland, and familiar bands and musicians play year-round at the State Theatre and Port City Music Hall in Portland. And you can almost always find live music in a local pub or floating over the water from some pier-side afternoon hot spot.
