Bufflehead Sailing Charters

3417 Captain Spear Drive, Rockland, ME, USA
  • Private sailing charters along Maine's Midcoast

Bufflehead is a 32-foot wooden sloop tied up in the harbor in downtown Rockland. Captain Daniel Bennett takes groups of one to six on custom-length trips into and around Penobscot Bay, exploring the islands and sailing past the six different lighthouses visible from Rockland Bay. The lobster bake trips anchor up at an uninhabited island for a one-of-a-kind picnic.

Adventure with experience. Day sails, custom charters, lobster bakes and island picnics. Tour Penobscot Bay with a view of the Camden Hills; explore the islands, lighthouses and rocky spruce-clad shores; watch schooners, lobster boats, eagles and seals from the largest protected harbor in New England.

We create memorable custom experiences. Every day is different and the light is always changing. Don't miss out on this authentic Maine sailing experience. Come sail and share the beauty and interest as we explore among the islands of Maine.

  • Hours of Operation

    24/7 Through mid October.
Most sails start around nine or ten to give morning fog a chance to go, then sail for as short as an hour’s quick harbor tour to all day jaunts to distant islands.
