Row a Wooden Boat in Belfast Bay with DoryWoman Rowing!

6 Footbridge Rd, Belfast, ME 04915, USA
  • Looking for a unique on-the-water experience?  Go for row with DoryWoman Rowing in beautiful Belfast Bay!  Nicolle Littrell, a licensed Maine Guide, offers rowing lessons, guided tours, workout and speciality rows in her traditional-style wooden dory boat, in Belfast Harbor and the Passagassawakeag River, year-round.

In a Rowing Lesson, you'll learn the fundamentals of open water rowing in a fixed seat, two-oared traditional wooden boat.  Guided Tours offer a scenic experience of the Belfast Bay watershed; rows are often punctuated with sightings of the abundant wildlife that live here:  seals, eagles, jumping fish, osprey, loons, ducks, herons, cormorants and the occasional porpoise.  You'll learn about the history of Belfast's working waterfront and the heritage of wooden boats.  Workout Rows are an excellent fitness opportunity for intermediate and experienced rowers.  Rowing is a full-body workout!  Speciality Rows include the enchanting Moon & Stars Rows and Solstice Rows, to mark the changing seasons, as well as the now notorious Witches Row in October (use your imagination).  If you enjoy being out on the water for fun, fitness, adventure...and a touch of magic, DoryWoman Rowing has a row for you!

The dory boat is 19.5 feet long and seats up to three people.  Lessons are for individuals and pairs, tours and speciality rows for up to three people; workout rows are for individuals only.  Children ages 8 and up are welcome on the boat (with the exception of workout and some specialty rows); under 14 requires parent/guardian supervision.

Your row begins with a safety talk and getting seated properly and comfortably in the boat.  PFDs are required for all passengers.
