Opened in 1938 and family owned for 26 years, easily accessible Shawnee Peak is the closest ski area to Greater Portland and a favorite of many families throughout New England. Boasting over 40 trails and glades with 6 lifts and one of the most powerful snowmaking systems in the country, come see why the Peak is a generational favorite. We are also New England’s largest night skiing facility, with 18 trails lit up, the Peak has something for everyone, day and night!
Our terrain and trail network is wonderful for beginners, experts and families. Everyone can go off and do their own thing and gather back in the same place for lunch and après!
Shawnee Peak is a full-service operation – with a modern equipment Rental Shop, an experienced SnowSports School, restaurant, bar, cafeteria and more.
Corporate Meetings & Retreats
We offer customized packages for your corporate or recreational group and can curate a memorable experience for everyone. Kick off the day with a presentation or team building event and then hit the slopes for some skiing or group lessons. We’ll even throw in a BBQ and après ski.
During the off-season months, let Shawnee Peak host your retreat, company outing, or wedding and be the only group on the mountain! We have three facilities with four meeting areas, outdoor space and hundreds of acres in our backyard. Our facilities feature bathrooms, ADA accessibility and flexible space options, as well overnight accommodations for multi-day meetings or retreats.
Mountain Top Events
Our summit chairlift can be rented to host a mountaintop lobster bake or wedding ceremony at the Peak. There is nothing like overlooking the Presidential’s of New Hampshire and the lakes of Western Maine as you say I do. For the adventurous, you can hike the ski trails to the summit. We also have a mountaintop yurt and cabin, which can be rented out for your overnight stay or day retreat.

Rent The Whole Mountain
Yup, you heard that right! We’ll give you full reign of the slopes all day long. The mountain will close to the general public and we’ll spin the lifts and drop the ropes on trails just for you! We will work with you to customize the experience – and can accommodate most every request. Only at Shawnee Peak can you get the keys to the whole mountain!
